15/10/2015 – Aurora Theatre, Gozo
Giuseppe Verdi’s masterpiece La Traviata will be returning to Gozo’s Teatru tal-Opra Aurora this October for the third time since 1998. The decision was made after a successful production of Il Trovatore in 2014.
La Traviata, The Fallen Woman, is based on La dame aux Camélias, a play adapted from the novel by Alexander Dumas. It was composed in 1852, during one of Verdi’s most prolific period which also saw the great maestro scribe his terrific Il Trovatore and Rigoletto.
The Aurora theatre in Victoria – Gozo is a favourite amongst local opera lovers because of its relishing atmosphere and location. All the opera goers we know enjoy spending a couple of days in Gozo prior or after the show. This little break gives them the time to unwind, relax and enjoy the tranquillity that the island has to offer.
